The City of Rawlins is continuing its search for a new city manager after the governing body’s top candidate bowed out.

The city received more than a dozen applications for the six-figure job and had begun negotiations with its top choice when the candidate backed out due to a family matter.

The municipality is now re-advertising for a new leader through Prothman, the national executive recruitment firm the city hired in January after parting ways with former manager Scott Hannum.

Cali O’Hare has been following the story and filed this report.
