A Rawlins man has been arrested for robbing a convenience store in the city.

The RPD announced on Monday a 21-year-old Jonathan Lawdermilt had been arrested for armed robbery.

Lawdermilt is accused of stealing an undisclosed amount of cash from the Loaf N’ Jug convenience store, located at 902 West Spruce Street one day prior.

In a social media post, the Rawlins Police Department wrote at approximately 3:30 am, on Sunday, March 2nd, officers were notified about an armed robbery at the Loaf N’ Jug. Upon arriving at the scene, witnesses explained that a single suspect entered the convenience store and demanded money while indicating that he held a weapon concealed in his clothing.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the scene on foot.

Rawlins Police quickly identified Jonathan Lawdermilt as the primary suspect in the robbery. Within an hour, officers located Lawdermilt in the 1800 block of West Spruce Street. The suspect was arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery and Interference with a Police Officer.

The Rawlins Police Department reminds the public that all individuals accused of crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
