In Rawlins, the city council approved the location and expenditures for phase one of a skate park, using $70,000 with the hope that kids can have a safe place to roller skate, bike, and board as soon as this summer.

A handful of local businesses were quick to offer donations, which will be utilized in phase two.

Generations of Rawlins residents have advocated for developing such a recreational opportunity. It may finally come to fruition, supported by heavy input from middle and high school students and professional consulting from the American Ramp Company. Cali O’Hare reports.
