Home for the Holidays… That’s the goal of staff at the Rawlins Rochelle Animal Shelter. It’s a Christmas wish for themselves as much as it is for the adoptable dogs and cats that are housed at the shelter now. Their goal is to get the animals into foster homes, or foster-to-adopt homes ahead of the Christmas holiday so that neither the homeless pets nor the Animal Control Officers who care for them have to spend Christmas at the shelter.

Those who can’t bring a dog or cat home can still help by filling one of the many stockings set up at the shelter. Cali O’Hare spoke with the Animal Control Officers and the critters themselves, and filed this report.

The Rawlins-Rochelle Animal Shelter is open to the public Monday through Friday, 3:00 to 5:30 PM, or by appointment. Please call 307-328-4534 to make an appointment.
