It’s July 4th weekend and firework displays are planned across Carbon County to celebrate America’s birthday.

More than a half-dozen fireworks displays are planned in Carbon County on July 4th, including those put on by the Old Baldy Club in Saratoga, the Seminoe Boat Club, Brush Creek Ranch, the Medicine Bow Volunteer Fire Department, the Towns of Encampment, Saratoga and the City of Rawlins.

Baggs will host a show on the Fourth at Russell Park beginning at dark.

The annual Rawlins fireworks display begins around 10 o’clock and lasts about 20 minutes, with firefighters launching the mortars from a field near the Family Recreation Center on Harshman Street.

Carbon County Fire Warden John Rutherford encourages residents and visitors alike to see one of the public shows. Personal fireworks – shooting them off or even possessing them – is illegal in Carbon County.
