Motorists on Interstate 80 in Carbon County will encounter road construction near the Wagonhound Rest Area.

Work began this week following the Memorial Day holiday between mile markers 258 to 268 in the eastbound lanes only.

The project includes mill and overlay work, as well as installation of a high- performance wearing course. Some concrete slabs will be replaced in the driving lane, as well.

WYDOT advises that the hot plant for the project area is located near the Wagonhound Rest Area. Motorists are advised to expect heavy truck traffic in and around the rest area throughout the project.

Interstate travelers should expect possible delays due to lowered speed limits and single lane shifts through the construction zone.

A 14-foot width restriction for vehicles will be in place for interstate traffic during the project.
