The decision of whether or not to turn off the water to the Saratoga Care Center never came to Saratoga Town Council for a vote. Since Bigfoot 99 reported on Monday that the water and sewer bill totaling more than $2,600 from five years ago was still unpaid, someone stepped forward and paid the full amount.

Mayor Creed Mayor James made announcement at last night’s town council meeting, with the clerk confirming.

Bigfoot 99 then asked who paid the bill, Councilman Jon replied an “anonymous donor.”

The bad debt dated back to when the now-defunct Deseret Health Care Company out of Utah owned the property. The current operator, HMS Health Care, has been up to date with payments to the town during since taking over the operation in 2015.

The Joint Powers Board Water and Sewer Board voted last week to hold HMS accountable for the past due account predating its taking over the facility. The matter is resolved now, and the water won’t be turned off to the assisted living center.
