Saratoga’s Transportation Alternatives Master Plan is nearing completion. The document will be discussed tonight at the Town Hall.
Last year, the Saratoga Planning Commission received a $200,000 Wyoming Department of Transportation grant to conduct a study of what, if any, improvements are needed to the town’s existing walking infrastructure. Denver-based OV Consulting was hired to design a plan for new and improved pedestrian access throughout the town.
OV Consulting put together a design draft containing 42 total infrastructure projects. Eleven projects were chosen as the most feasible, including constructing a walkway between the schools on Elm Avenue and adding additional crosswalks along the highway.
During the July 16th Saratoga town council meeting, Public Works Director Emery Penner said the planning commission will review the draft Saratoga Transportation Alternatives Master Plan, or STAMP. If they are happy with the study, Penner said he’ll bring it to the council for approval.
In a written statement to Bigfoot99, Penner said the Planning Commission will hold a special meeting to discuss the findings of the Transportation Alternatives Master Plan at 5:30pm tonight in the Saratoga town hall.
