Carbon County COVE began holding events earlier this week to bring awareness to sexual abuse.
April is Sexual Assault Prevention Month. Carbon County Crisis Outreach and Victim Empowerment, or COVE, is hosting events all month to raise awareness of sexual assault victims and survivors.
For instance, Tuesday April 1, was the National Day of Action. Participants wore teal-colored clothing to show their support for victims of sexual abuse victims. The final day of the month, April 30th is Denim Day. COVE Executive Director Jennifer Evans told Bigfoot 99 that people are asked to wear a specific article of clothing, denim for instance, in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
