A semi-truck crashed into the back of a Wyoming Highway Patrol vehicle Saturday morning, sending the trooper to the hospital with minor injuries.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Saturday’s snowstorm caused more than 36 crashes around the state. Most of the crashes occurred on interstate roadways due to slick, icy roads and severe wind.
Here in Carbon County, an out-of-control semi-truck rear ended an occupied Highway Patrol vehicle on Interstate 80 near milepost 219. Wyoming Highway Patrol released a statement about the incident. “Earlier [Saturday] morning, a Trooper was working on a crash along I-80 when another vehicle crashed into the Trooper while he was in his patrol vehicle. The Trooper was transported and released from an area hospital. Further details of the crash will be released after the investigation is completed.”
Another crash closed Highway 30, from Walcott Junction to Laramie, for the majority of Saturday. Details of this crash have not been released at this time.
