Sprinkler amendment defeated
The controversial amendment to a portion of Rawlins building codes that would have required fire sprinkler systems in all new residential construction failed on second reading Tuesday night.
Two council members voted for it, and five against the measure. At least for now, the decision of whether or not to install sprinklers in any new homes in Rawlins will remain with the property owner and not with the city. Cali O’Hare reports.

In Saratoga, after letting disagreements get out of hand at times over the past year, the town council hopes to get on better footing this coming year.
