Board appointments delayed for more thorough selection process

Although the published agenda for Tuesday night’s Rawlins City Council meeting initially included several board appointments, the item was scrubbed at the last minute so the selection process can be revamped. The new mayor wants applicants to meet with council members before appointments are made. Cali O’Hare reports.

 

 

Riverside officials weigh zoning officer appointment

The Town of Riverside is considering creating a zoning officer position to enforce ordinances in the small town at the south end of the Platte Valley. Emma Diercks has the details.

Rawlins City Council approves trash hauler licenses

The Rawlins City Council proceeded with renewing the licenses of the municipality’s two trash haulers Tuesday night, despite ambiguities in the ordinance and the different requirements placed on the two private companies.

The decision comes as litigation continues between Dirty Boyz Sanitation and the old council under former Mayor Robert Grauberger over the issue. Cali O’Hare has the latest.
