CCSD1 weighs in on school resource officer addition
In a follow-up to a story Bigfoot 99 first broadcast last week, officials with Carbon County School District One say they are looking forward to having a school resource officer in its buildings during the upcoming school year. Emma Diercks reports.
Rawlins FD investigating restaurant fire
The cause of a fire at a downtown Rawlins restaurant is under investigation. Firefighters were dispatched to the Three Fiddlers Wednesday afternoon after a passerby reported black smoke accumulating on the large windows that overlook Cedar Street. Cali O’Hare spoke with Fire Chief John Rutherford at the scene at filed this report.
Last night, Fire Chief Rutherford said that he believes he has identified the cause of the fire, but quote “wants to have another set of eyes” on the scene before making an official ruling. As a result, the chief has reached out to the State Fire Marshal’s Office for help determining the cause of the fire.
CCHEC going solar
The Carbon County Higher Education Center is looking to put solar panels on its facility. The goal is to get students involved in new technologies while also reducing expenses on electricity. Emma Diercks has the story.
Visitor’s council explains changes to grant process
