City of Rawlins to manage golf course restaurant again
The City of Rawlins is in the same spot it was this time last year: Call it a sand trap. With the start of the golf season just weeks away, the city is still without a private vendor to run the restaurant at the municipal golf course.
Officials this week resigned themselves to the municipality taking another swing at serving food and beverage to what appears to be a declining number of golfers at the course. Cali O’Hare reports.
Platte Valley healthcare committee launches online survey
The Platte Valley Healthcare Sustainability Project Committee has launched an online survey. The public is invited to answer several questions about health and medical needs in the valley. Data from the online questionnaire will be used a part of a feasibility study to determine if a critical access hospital makes sense in Saratoga. Emma Diercks reports.

RPD seeking funding for increased patrols
The Rawlins Police Department is looking to increase enforcement efforts this summer and throughout the year. With the city council’s approval, the RPD will submit a grant request for funding to cover the additional time that officers are patrolling for impaired driving and other violations. Cali O’Hare has more.
Saratoga still without zoning officer
The Saratoga Town Council has not yet filled its zoning officer position. The town’s planning commission suggested a creating a full-time position that where the new hire would work part-time as a zoning officer and part-time in the public works department. Town council did not approve the proposal. Emma Diercks reports.
