Mayor confirms computer seized from Saratoga Town Hall
In Saratoga, Mayor John Zieger confirmed Wednesday that the Sheriff’s Department seized computer equipment, including hard drives, from town hall last week. The seizure is meant to protect any evidence while a review of the town’s financial records is underway.
The hard drives were seized a full week before Tuesday night’s unusually short council meeting. How the two are related remains a mystery, but Councilman Jon Nelson told Bigfoot 99 that he asked the county attorney to intervene when it appeared town hall wanted to install a new computer prior to an independent accountant’s review of the records. Rawlins dealerships seek bid process compromise with city
In Rawlins, local car dealerships have historically not submitted bids for city vehicles even though they could save the town money. The deal breaker – a state-mandated bond requirement that dealers say costs them money out-of-pocket unnecessarily.
During this week’s council meeting, a representative from Dallin Motors explained why the bid bond is a non-starter for dealers. The explanation worked.
Afterward, council rejected all bids and directing staff to find a workaround that will allow local dealerships to participate in the bidding process. Cali O’Hare reports.
WYDOT streamlines authorized travel program
While the fall season just started, the Wyoming Department of Transportation says now is the time to apply for the Authorized Travel Program in preparation for winter road conditions.
