Gas leak sparks evacuation discussion in Saratoga

In Saratoga on Sunday, a neighborhood south of the downtown area was evacuated after a gas leak was detected at a vacant house crews were demolishing to make way for an office building.

First responders evacuated a three-block area that included businesses, but some people didn’t have a designated place to go over the holiday weekend. Emma Diercks has the story.

 

 

Mental health examiner to retire

A string of retirements have been announced at recent Carbon County Commissioners meetings. Tuesday’s was no different. After 15 years in his position, County Mental Health Examiner Glenn Biggs plans to retire in November.

The position is required by state statute, so the Board of Carbon County Commissioners must find his replacement. Cali O’Hare reports.

 

 

Campground improvements on the horizon at Saratoga Lake

The Saratoga Public Works department is preparing to go out bid for design improvements to the Saratoga Lake Campground.

Funding for the project comes from state impact assistance through the Gateway West Transmission Line. Emma Diercks has the story.

Walnut Street closed for repairs

In Rawlins: A one-block section of Walnut Street in front of the fire station will be closed through tomorrow as city crews make repairs.

Sports: Football season kicks off with an inter-county bash
