The first draft of an amendment to a Town of Saratoga ordinance regulating special events removes the requirement of submitting a permit application 30 days prior to an event.

The requirement has proven to be a burden, and the rule has been waived for several events recently.

The town council plans to present the first reading of the modifications next month. Emma Diercks reports.
