Local bell ringers collect $15,000

In Rawlins: bell ringers volunteering for the Salvation Army raised a record-breaking amount of funds this season.

Ninety percent of nearly $15,000 collected inside the red kettles will benefit Carbon County residents who are struggling to pay their bills. Cali O’Hare reports.

Jail cameras fail, prompting emergency replacement

Some areas of the Carbon County Jail and Detention Center in Rawlins are off limits to prisoners until new security cameras are installed.

Eight of the aging cameras at the facility failed recently. The emergency replacement is expected to cost up to $45,000. Cali O’Hare reports.
