Saratoga officials keep quiet about changes to valley healthcare

While members of the Saratoga Town Council remain mute on their ideas for local healthcare, some residents are concerned that big changes at the Platte Valley Medical Clinic are part of the plan. Those changes could mean a reduction in care. Emma Diercks has the story.

In circuit court Monday, Rawlins Fire Chief John Rutherford entered a plea of “not guilty” to the charge of Interfering with a Police Officer. Rutherford was arrested at the Hole in the Wall bar on Spruce Street in the city as police were conducting a bar check Friday night. Rutherford owns the establishment. Carbon County Circuit Court Judge Susan Stipe recused herself, as did the County Attorney. Both cited conflicts of interest. Rutherford is also the county fire warden. Filling in was Judge John Prokos of Sweetwater County, who presided over the bond hearing via a video hookup. Cali O’Hare reports.

Saratoga candidates address residents’ concerns at forum

Monday evening, Saratoga residents gathered at the Platte Valley Community Center to ask five candidates running for town council where they stand on certain issues. Emma Diercks attended the candidate forum hosted by the Valley Service Organization and filed this report:
