The Platte Valley Healthcare Committee is preparing to submit an application to the USDA for its proposed Critical Access Hospital by the end of this week.

Ordinance changes may cause problems for residents
In Rawlins: as discussions about changing Title 19 codes continue, some city officials are considering a crackdown on non-permitted structures.
Property owners who obtained permits or variances for structures are safe from the push, but those who did not follow the rules may be the targets of any enforcement efforts. Cali O’Hare reports.
Saratoga campground project hits turbulence
In Saratoga, a councilman is against extending a sewer line to the campground at the lake north of town. The extension was proposed in a request for state impact assistance funding available from wind energy project in the Shirley Basin.
At a workshop next month, council along with the water and sewer board will discuss the matter. Emma Diercks reports.
Emergency responders host canned food drive
Competition makes everybody better, even when it comes to giving. In Rawlins, a friendly competition is underway between police, fire and the hospital to see who can donate the most to the Saint Vincent de Paul food bank.
For the next week, residents can show their support by donating non-perishable items to the organization of their choosing. Cali O’Hare has the details.
Saratoga nixes zoning job
In Saratoga, Town Council has given up on trying to craft a budget amendment to fund a zoning officer.
After several months of work on the issue, council members have decided not to create a full time position at this point. Emma Diercks has the story.
