Puppies Possum and Otter, seen here in their foster home, are recovering from severe malnourishment and neglect. Otter, the white and brown female, weighed 11 pounds, and her hip bones, backbone and ribs were clearly visible. She had sores on her back, behind her ears and on her stomach. She was located in a kennel with Possum, Murphy and one other dog in the back of the UHaul.
Possum weighed 8 pounds when she was rescued. Her hip bones were clearly visible, as were her ribs and backbone. Possum's legs were stained yellow from the filth she was confined in.
