Nation to retire from road and bridge department

At yesterday’s regular meeting of the county commissioners, the room became emotional with the surprise announcement that Bill Nation will retire from the road and bridge department later this month.

Former Rawlins doctor slammed with wrongful death claim

An area resident has filed a wrongful death governmental claim against David Cesko, who formerly served as a family doctor in Rawlins.

According to the Plaintiff, the suspension of Cesko’s medical license in 2018 is related to the requested compensation. Emma Diercks has the story.

MHCC presents at Saratoga Town Council meeting

Healthcare was again the main topic of discussion at Tuesday’s Saratoga Town Council meeting.

Memorial Hospital of Carbon County Interim CEO Bob Quist presented details on plans to offer clinical services in Saratoga.

Health Management Services President Karl Rude, who currently rents the town’s clinic facility responded saying the proposal threatens the opportunity to explore bringing a critical access hospital to the Platte Valley. Emma Diercks has the story.

Quist also mentioned at the meeting last night the hospital will be interviewing candidates for the full-time CEO position in the coming weeks.

Quist said even if one of the candidates is hired, he will stay on at the hospital in Rawlins for a time to finish up some projects.
