County Road 401 temporarily open for camper retrieval
If you have a camper or horse trailer still parked in the Medicine Bow National Forest after the early bout of winter weather, you’ll be able to remove them this weekend before the gate on County Road 401 swings shut for the season.
During yesterday’s county commissioners meeting, officials with the Road and Bridge Department said they’ll open the South Road beginning Thursday for a last-chance opportunity for the public to retrieve their possessions. Cali O’Hare has details.
In an update to this story, county road and bridge coordinator Kandis Fritz told Bigfoot 99 that all of the cows have been removed from McCarty Canyon. So crews will not open County Road 503 to traffic. Only the 401 to the forest will be plowed.
