Victoria Rose Tidball, who lived in Saratoga, has been sentenced to up to 20 years in prison for attempted voluntary manslaughter.
In the early morning hours of December 16th, 2023, twenty-nine-year-old Tidball fired over 40 pistol rounds at the home and vehicle of her then boyfriend, Bradley McBride.
Court documents show that Tidball and McBride had been involved in a heated argument after McBride mentioned he wanted to sell his dog. Following the altercation, Tidball reportedly retrieved a Glock handgun from her truck and shot at McBride’s home and vehicle. She apparently stopped and to reload the weapon more than once.
The victim, who lives on the 300 block of North Veterans Street in Saratoga, was uninjured in the attack.
Neighbors on the east side of Saratoga called police.
After the shooting, Tidball fled the area with 32-year-old bartender Cody Ellenson. Before the two subjects left town, Ellenson allegedly stole over $8,000 from his place of employment, the Whistle Pig Saloon.
Tidball was arrested 11 days later in Dawson County, Nebraska. After being extradited to Carbon County, Prosecutor Sarah Harkins filed eight charges against the shooter, including attempted first-degree murder. During a pretrial conference held on June 17th, Tidball agreed to plead guilty to one count of attempted voluntary manslaughter.
Tidball was sentenced in Carbon County District Court on Monday, October 14th. District Court Judge Honorable Dawnessa Snyder ordered Tidball to serve between 12 and 20 years in a Wyoming state prison. The defendant was given a credit of 293 days for time served while awaiting sentencing.
Additionally, Tidball is ordered to pay $6,985 in restitution to Bradley McBride and $8,033, jointly with Cody Ellenson, to Whistle Pig Saloon owner Chuck Davidson.
Court documents show that Tidball is considered a qualified offender under the Addicted Offender Accountability Act. According to the Wyoming Department of Corrections website, a qualified offender is a person convicted of a felony that has a need for alcohol or other drug treatment.
In March of 2024, Cody Ellenson was arrested in Wakulla County, Florida. Ellenson was extradited to Campbell County, Wyoming to face charges of sexual assault on a minor. After serving his time there, Ellenson will then face trial in Carbon County for the Whistle Pig burglary.
