Interstates 80 and 25 may have seen closed more often than not last year because of weather-related closures, but traffic on WYDOT’s road and travel website broke records.

The Wyoming Road and Travel Department reported Tuesday that its 511 website registered 2.2 billion hits in 2022—the most in calendar year since the agency began keeping track of site visits.

The website shows both forecasted and real-time weather-related road impacts as well as data directly from WYDOT weather sensors, plow operators and Wyoming Highway Patrol Troopers, all combined into one convenient tool for travelers.

The top visited pages within the site in 2022 were the Closures and Advisories page, followed closely by the I-80 web cameras.
