In sports, Air Force scored first and went onto win 24-21 this past Saturday afternoon at Falcon Stadium.

With two minutes remaining in the game, the Cowboys were down by ten points. The Falcons’ defense was maligned coming into Saturday’s matchup, having given up at least 40 points per game in each of their previous five games. The Cowboys recorded 409 yards of total offense, nearly evenly matched in passing and throwing but Air Force tripped up the Pokes in the fourth quarter.

A series of missed opportunities caused to Wyoming fall to 1-and-2 in conference play.

Wyoming running backs Terron Kellman and Samuel “Tote” Harris led the offense, each rushing for 83 yards. Wide receiver Jaylen Sargent added a season-high five catches for 65 yards. Quarterback Kaden Anderson was 23-of-29 passing for 211 yards with a touchdown and interception.

The game came apart in the fourth quarter when the game was tied at 14-a piece. The Cowboys drove deep into Air Force territory and were threatening to score from the three-yard line. Quarterback Anderson threw a pick in the end zone.

The Falcons drove the ball back for a touchdown to make it a 21-14 game and held onto the lead for the win. The Falcons improve to 1-and-4 in Mountain West play with the win. Wyoming falls to 1-and-2.

The Cowboys return to action next Saturday hosting Colorado State for the Border War in a 5:30 p.m. start.

Elsewhere in the Mountain West:

Utah State improved to 2-1 in conference play with 30-25 win over San Jose State.

Boise State improved to 3-0 in the Mountain West with 56-31 win over UNLV.

Colorado State fell at home to Hawaii 19-31. The Rams are 1-and-2 in Mountain West action. The Warriors are 3-1. The win guarantees Hawaii will be bowl eligible for the first time under coach Timmy Chang.

Nevada remains winless in conference action with a 22-24 loss to New Mexico. The Lobos are 1-2 in conference action.

Utah State defeated San Jose State 30-25 in a Friday night nail-biter. The Aggies are now 2-1 in conference play. The Spartans are 1-2.

Broncos:

The Denver Broncos, down 19-0 at the end of the third quarter, scored 33 points in the 4th to defeat the New York Giants 33-32 at Mile Stadium.
