Wyoming had the weekend off with a bye. So did UNLV. The Cowboys will meet this Saturday in the War for a 5 p.m. kickoff.
Elsewhere in the Mountain West:
Utah State fell at #18 Vanderbilt, 35-85.
San Diego State edged Northern Illinois in a game without touchdowns, 6-3.
New Mexico rallied in the second half to defeat cross-state rival New Mexico State 38-20. Jack Layne threw four touchdown passes and New Mexico scored 24 points in the second half to rally for a 38-20 to win Saturday.
Air Force lost at home against Hawaii 44-35.
The change of quarterback with the Rams made no difference at Colorado State. Washington State came into Canvas Stadium and cruised to a 20-3 win. The new quarterback, Jackson Brousseau, went 19-28 passing for 188 yards.
The panic is real in Fort Fun. Kyle Lytle wrote in the Coloradoan for Sunday’s edition, “The wheels seem to be coming off.”
Lytle continued, “CSU barely escaped a game against Northern Colorado with a win, thanks in part to a questionable ref decision. The story in the Coloradoan concluded, “The pressure is on Norvell to show there’s still life in this team.”
Elsewhere in the Mountain West, San Jose State lost to Stanford 30-29.
Boise State crushed Appalachia State 47-14.
