The Wyoming Cowboys basketball team will open conference play tonight with a trip to Utah State against the undefeated Aggies in Logan, Utah.
The conference opener is slated for a 7 p.m. in a game broadcast here on Bigfoot 99.
Wyoming comes into the contest tonight with a 5-2 overall record. Wyoming came up short in the championship game of the Cancun Challenge, falling to LMU 73-70. The Pokes erased 16-point deficits in back-to-back games.
Wyoming is shooting 45 percent from the field so far this season with opponents shooting 41.6 percent. Both, the Pokes and opponents, are shooting 29 percent from behind the arc. Wyoming leads the Mountain West and ranks No. 13 in the nation grabbing 43.3 rebounds per game for the season.
The Aggies are an offensive powerhouse, averaging over 89 points, ranking ninth in the nation. Utah State heads into the conference opener with a 7-0 record winning the Preseason NIT tournament with a win over North Texas and are getting vote in both polls and are No. 14 in the NET Rankings.
The Cowboys are led in scoring by Obi Agbim with 18.3 points per game.
Bigfoot 99 will be on the air with the Wyoming-Utah State Broadcast with the pregame show at 6:30. Tip is set for 7 p.m.
