The Wyoming Cowboy football team is back in action tomorrow, inside War Memorial Stadium, for the final home game of the season. The Pokes play host to Boise State. The Number 12 Broncos come into the game looking to clinch the Mountain West championship with a win.
Wyoming can play spoiler.
The Cowboys are coming off the kind of loss that cuts to the soul—a 24-10 defeat to arch-rival Colorado State where Wyoming surrendered the coveted Bronze Boot.
First-year Cowboy Head Coach Jay Sawvel owned the loss this week.
The Broncos come into Laramie looking to make their third straight appearance in the Mountain West championship game. Their guns are loaded. Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty, a Heisman Trophy hopeful, looks to build on his season, only 107 yards from breaking the 2,000-yard mark. Jeanty is likely to see his number called a lot tomorrow night as he tries to break the big milestone.
It’s the storyline of the game. Can Wyoming’s beat-up defense stop the Broncos offense and their running machine game.
Last year, the Broncos won the matchup with Wyoming 32-7 in Albertson’s Stadium. The only loss the Broncos have to the Cowboys came in 2016, at a game in Laramie when Wyoming was led by current-NFL quarterback Josh Allen.
Redshirt freshman Kaden Anderson will be under center again this week. Against CSU, Anderson threw for 120 yards on 13-of-30 passing. Anderson will have to up his game this week, and so will the Wyoming receivers.
Wyoming is a 22.5-point underdog going into the matchup. The over/under bet is set at 56.5 points as the Cowboys square off against one of the best offenses in college football tomorrow night.
Wyoming will celebrate their seniors prior to the contest against Boise State. The group has helped lead the Cowboys to four bowl games during their careers with the group being named to numerous national awards and All-MW accolades.
Bigfoot 99 will be on the air at 3:30 with the pregame show. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
