University of Wyoming senior basketball player Obi Agbim received multiple Mountain West Conference honors on Tuesday.
Agbim was named MW Newcomer of the Year and a third-team All-Conference selection by the league’s coaches and media members. The 6-foot-3 point guard averaged 17.8 points, 3.5 assists and a 47.5 field-goal percentage in his first season in the conference after joining Wyoming from Division II Fort Lewis College.
Agbim ranked fourth in the league in scoring and eighth in field-goal efficiency. He also finished atop the league in 3-point percentage (44.4), posting one of the top marks in the nation while dishing out 4.6 assists in league play.
Wyoming opens Mountain West tournament play today against San Jose State. Tip is set for noon. The pregame show starts at 11:30 here on Bigfoot 99.
