The Wyoming Cowboys fell at Fresno State 62-58 Tuesday night in the final game of the regular season.

The Pokes finish the regular season 12-19 overall, 5-15 in conference play.

The story last night was a similar refrain: Missed free throws, the lack of rebounding and not being able to hit big shots at clutch moments.

Keith Kelly had the final call on the Cowboys sports network. Wyoming knocked down 12 threes in the contest, four in the final seven minutes, but were outscored at the free throw line by 14.

Shooting was a problem. Wyoming made just 33 percent of their shots, 20 of 61 on the night. Head Coach Sundance Wicks boiled it down this way.

Obi Agbim led the Pokes in scoring with 17. Kobe Newton added 15. Dontaie Allen scored 14 for his 12th game in double figures this season. On the flip side, Wyoming went scoreless for over four minutes. During the drought, the Bulldogs built a 27-19 lead.

Now it’s onto Las Vegas for the Mountain West Conference Tournament next week.

The Cowboys will open action in the First Round on Wednesday at Noon Mountain Time. Bigfoot 99 will have the game.
