Coming off aggressive, back-to-back practices in fall camp this past weekend, Wyoming Head Coach Jay Sawvel is looking forward to putting a greatly improved football team on the field in two weeks.
Wearing a blue and red-striped Pepsi Cola tie on Tuesday, the head coach provided Cowboy fans with a preview of the upcoming season at a news conference this week. Sawvel admitted that his predecessor would have scolded him for his fashion choice by saying, “We don’t coach at the University of Pepsi.”
Despite the fashion choice, Coach Sawvel said the mood in camp is excitement.
The Cowboys began the third week of fall camp on Tuesday. The first game of the season is two weeks from tomorrow on August 28 at the University of Akron.
