The Wyoming Cowboys are on the road at Boise State tonight for the second matchup between the two schools in two weeks.
The Cowboys head into the contest 9-and-7 overall, 2-3 in conference play. The Broncos are 12-5 in all with 4-2 conference record.
Obi Agbim, Wyoming’s starting point and guard and overall leading scorer, is expected to return to action tonight after missing a couple of games followed by last week’s bye. The senior is averaging 18.5 points per game. Wyoming will need all of that offensive power tonight. Agbim was on the court and back to full-go in practice over the weekend.
Wearing #16, Agbim suffered an injury to his lower right ankle two weeks ago against Boise State with 2:45 remaining in the game. Wyoming went onto lose the contest 67-58. His teammates helped him through the team handshakes at the close of the contest.
Agbim returns with 15 games remaining on the regular season schedule.
Tipoff against the Broncos is scheduled for 7 p.m. here on Bigfoot 99.
Meanwhile, Wyoming’s 6-foot-7-inch freshman, Abou Magassa was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week on Monday for delivering a career-high 10 points and five rebounds off the bench last week.
Magassa, who transferred from Saint Louis in May after the coaching shakeup in Laramie, finished 5-for-5 from the field over 24 minutes in UW’s 61-53 loss to the Lobos.
Wyoming’s road matchup tonight with Boise State tips at 7 p.m. bigfoot 99 will be on the air at 6:30 with the pregame show.
