You may complain about the heat this week. In Laramie, the Wyoming Cowboys have been in full pads preparing for the start of the 2025 football season.
Opening day is less than three weeks away.
The theme from the coaching staff this week is focused on improving.
The University of Wyoming announced the kickoff times for two home contests, the bookends for the 2025 Cowboy Football season. Wyoming will open the home schedule against Northern Iowa on September 6 with kick slated for 2 p.m.
UW’s home finale against Nevada is set for Noon on November 22.
The Cowboys open the season on the road in Ohio against the University of Akron.
The Zip are under the guidance of fourth-year head coach Joe Moorhead.
Two players to watch on the Zips are senior Wide Receiver Myles Walker and junior defensive lineman Julien Laventure. Walker and Laventure earned the right to wear the No. 1 jersey in fall camp. Coach Moorehead talked about their leadership skills and sense of accountability.
Kickoff between the Cowboys and the Zip is set for Thursday, August 28 at 5 p.m. Mountain Time.
