Wyoming beat San Jose State 62-66 inside the Arena Auditorium.

With the win, the Pokes are 12-2 overall. Wyoming snapped a four-game losing streak and matched their overall win total from last year.

The Cowboys battled for the win. The Spartans were deadly from three-point range, hitting 11. Wyoming only hit two from beyond the arc. The Cowboys stayed in the game at the free-throw line, shooting 89 percent from the line with 24 makes.

The Spartans hit one of their three-point shots at 1:33 to make it a two-point game, 60-62.

As time was running out with the game on the line, San Jose State turned the ball over for the first time in the second half.

Leland Walker iced the win with two made free throws as time ran out to make the score 66-62

With the win, Wyoming improved to 3-6 in conference play and have 10 home wins on the season.

Sophomore Demarion Dennis was the leading scorer with 16-points off the bench. With the game in the balance, Dennis helped the Cowboys regain the lead on a defense-to-offense play.

Head Coach Sundance Wicks was proud of the way the team responded to adversity in the game and never gave up. “Growth points,” is how Wicks described Wyoming’s ability to overcome adversity.

After two home games, the Cowboys return to action on Wednesday with a trip to Utah State for a 7 p.m. start in a contest on CBS Sports Network.
