The Cowboys suffered their first home loss of the season inside the Arena Auditorium on New Years Eve, falling to Boise State 67-58.

Shooting just 35 percent from the field on the night, Wyoming got off to a wobbly start and fell behind early. In the first three minutes of action, Boise State built a quick 6-2 lead. Down by six points at the break, 25-19, the Cowboys made a strong run in the second half to take the lead briefly.

Boise State tightened up and clinched the win.

Halfway through the second frame, Wyoming guard A.J. Wills, a sophomore from Richmond, Virginia, hit a three shot to give the Cowboys their first and only lead of the night.

Keith Kelly had the call as Wills had a career night for the Pokes, putting up 17 points, including a career-best five three-point shots.

After Wyoming kept Boise State shooters silent for 2.5 minutes, the Broncos responded and reclaimed the lead.

It was a two-point game at the 2:22 mark but the Broncos built their lead at the free-throw line for the nine-point win.

Head coach Sundance Wicks rotated players in the first half to find the right combination of Cowboys who would stand up to the toughness of Boise State.

The Cowboys are now 8-2 overall, 1-and-2 in conference play.

Wyoming will be at Air Force on Saturday. The tip is set for 3 p.m.

The Falcons fell to UNLV on Tuesday afternoon. The Falcons shot 33% on the game, hitting just 23% from deep. With the win, UNLV moves into fourth place in the Mountain West standings, trailing undefeated Utah State, New Mexico, and Boise State.

Bigfoot 99 will be on the air at 2:30 tomorrow with the pregame show.
