The Wyoming Cowboys held off UNLV in Las Vegas to pull off a big 63-61 conference win against the Running Rebels Tuesday night.

The Wyoming win was the first against the Running Rebels at their home court in 22 years.

The Cowboys were up 60-49 at one point. The Rebels went on a 12-3 run to get within two points with 7.9 seconds on the clock.

Obi Agbim, who led Wyoming scoring, missed a free throw in the final seconds to give the Rebels a chance to steal the win, but Wyoming escaped with the “W.”

Keith Kelly had the call Tuesday night as Wyoming snapped a four-game losing streak. The win puts the Pokes at 3-5 in conference play, 10-9 overall.

Obi Agbim led Wyoming in scoring with 19 points, going 5 of 9 from beyond the arc.

The Running Rebels managed to force turnovers late in the game to go on a run and cut into the Wyoming lead. The Cowboys held on under the pressure.

Head Coach Sundance Wicks said his Cowboys were locked in, headed into the contest after Saturday’s Border War loss to Colorado State.

Wyoming continues their road swing with a trip to San Jose State on Saturday for a 5:30 p.m. start on the Mountain West Network.
