The Wyoming Cowgirls, playing zone defense, held San Jose State scoreless for nine minutes in the fourth quarter, on the way to a 45-42 win.
The Cowgirls used the Lobos scoring drought to go on a 17-point run. Wyoming used a controlling 1-3-1 zone defense to pressure the Lobos and disrupt their rhythm.
With the win, Wyoming swept Nevada this season having won the home contest in Laramie 66-61 on January 15th.
Wyoming played without Allyson Fertig, who hurt an ankle in the loss against Boise State earlier in the week.
Tess Barnes led Wyoming scorers with 13 points. Emily Mellama and Malene Pedersen each had 10.
After the win, Head Coach Heather Ezell talked about the 1-3-1 defense her team used Saturday night.
