The Wyoming Cowgirls fell Sunday afternoon 72-71 to UNLV at the final buzzer in overtime.

The gut-wrenching loss to the three-time Mountain West champions came at the end of a grueling slugfest.

The Cowgirls got out to an early lead at the opening buzzer. The Cowgirls led 18-10 after the first quarter. UNLV regrouped and took control to hold a 28-18 lead at the half.

Scoring was evenly matched the rest of the way, leading to a 67-67 tie in regulation. The Rebels outscored the Cowgirls 5-4 in the extra frame to escape with the win.

The Cowgirls, now 10-8 overall and 4-2 in conference play, travel to face 1-5 Air Force for an early 4-p.m. tip on Wednesday, January 22nd. We will air the game starting with the pre-show at 3:30.
