A shakeup in Fort Collins, at CSU, ahead of this week’s Border War matchup with Wyoming. Jay Norvell is out as Colorado State’s head football coach.
Norvell was fired Sunday after CSU’s loss to Hawaii on Saturday.
The former head coach of the Rams is owed a $1.5 million buyout from CSU, according to sources citing the terms of his contract.
The decision comes one day after a loss to Hawaii. The Rams still have five games left in the 2025 regular season. He’s the first CSU coach to be fired midseason since Sark Arslanian, who was let go five games into the 1981 season.
Wyoming is a six-point favorite in this week’s Border War matchup.
The game will kick-off this Saturday at 5:30 in Fort Collins.
