In sports, Buffalo Bill quarterback Josh Allen will return to Laramie for Wyoming’s contest against Nevada on November 22 where his #17 will be retired during a halftime ceremony.
The Cowboys will play against the Nevada Wolf Pack on that date.
Allen, the reigning NFL MVP and Wyoming Athletics Hall of Famer, will become the first Cowboy to have his jersey retired.
Allen quarterbacked the Cowboys to two consecutive eight-win seasons, a berth in the Mountain West Championship game in 2016 and two bowl games.
During his Wyoming career, Allen accounted for 5,833 yards of total offense, with 5,066 passing yards and 767 rushing yards. He was responsible for 57 touchdowns during his career, 44 passing, 12 rushing, and one receiving. He graduated in December 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in social science.
Allen was drafted by the Buffalo Bills with the 7th pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Wyoming’s highest-ever draft pick.
Allen’s #17 will be retired on November 22nd inside the War at halftime.
The Cowboys are 1-0 to start the 2025 season. Wyoming will be in War Memorial Stadium tomorrow to take on the University of Northern Iowa.
Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. The Wyoming Cowboys Network suffered a lot of technical difficulties Wednesday night during the show with Coach Sawvel. The audio team experienced a lot of trouble during the course of the show and Coach Sawvel talked about the trouble the Panthers will pose tomorrow.
Bigfoot 99 will be on the air with the pregame show beginning at 12:30. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. with Keith Kelly and David McKinney.
