Nevada kept Wyoming at arm’s length most of the night before the Wolf Pack pulled away late for a 92-83 win.
Both teams shot over 50 percent from the field in the contest but the Cowboys dropped to 11-5 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
Naz Meyer, the freshman guard from Los Angeles, posted a career high 27 points, including 3 three-point shots and 10 made free throws.
Leland Walker added 14 for his 11th game in double figures.
Head Coach Sundance Wicks put it this way:
Coach Wicks acknowledged that the Cowboys are going to have to raise the level of their play and that freshmen are leading the team.
The Cowboys return to action at home on Wednesday evening. San Diego State comes to Laramie for a 6 p.m. MST start. Bigfoot 99 will have the game starting at 5:30.
