“Fired up.” That’s how Christian Taylor, the new offensive coordinator for the Wyoming Cowboys describes himself.
Head Coach Jay Sawvel, announced on Friday, the hiring of Taylor as the new offensive coordinator and quarterback coach.
Taylor has been on staff with the Buffalo Bills on both sides of the ball, offensive advisor and defensive quality control. Taylor has 16 years of collegiate coaching experience and has spent two seasons in the NFL. Taylor helped lead his programs to multiple NCAA Playoff appearances, including a trip to the FCS semifinals.
Physicality and toughness are Wyoming’s top characteristics, Taylor notes. The grit, the cowboy toughness, rings true for Taylor.
Head Coach Sawvel has a “great football mind” and a history of success.
Taylor will replace Jovon Bouknight, who took over coaching the offense after Jay Johnson was sidelined this past season and then left the program.
Bouknight is still on staff and will coach wide receivers in 2026.
