In Laramie, the starting quarterback position appears settled, but a battle appears to be underway for the backup position.

With the Cowboys opening the third week of Spring Camp on Tuesday, Sophomore Kaden Anderson appears to have locked down the starting position as signal caller.

Landon SimsGage Brook and the state’s top prospect, rookie Mason Drube, are all in the mix for the job of back-up quarterback. Deyon Batiste, a 6-5 freshman, who was originally committed to Iowa State, is also in the mix for the back-up position.

Second-year head coach Jay Sawvel talked this week about what he sees after seven practices this spring.
