Wyoming place-kicker is on pro-football’s radar. Pro Football Focus (PFF) has named its Midseason College Football All-America Teams. Hoyland was named to the second team even though he has a better record than North Carolina’s Christopher Dunn who was PFF’s First Team selection.

Hoyland is currently No. 1 in the nation in field goals made this season, averaging 2.1 per game, 17 of 19. He is also ranked No. 18 among all Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) players in scoring, having racked up 69 total points this season.

Coach Craig Bohl described Hoyland during the covid year as an effective weapon on the Wyoming offense.

Throughout his career, Hoyland has made 40 of 47 field goals—an 85% success rate. He’s also made all 74 of his 74 point after touchdown attempts.

The Cowboys will not be leaving Hoyland behind when they leave for the 3,000 mile trip Hawaii later today for Saturday’s nightcap game with the Rainbow Warriors.
