The Wyoming Cowboys head to the Air Force Academy to take on the Falcons Saturday.

Wyoming scored 21 unanswered points in the second half last week to defeat San Jose State in Laramie 35-28 in a comeback win.

Air Force, meanwhile, is a better team than their 0-4 conference record indicates. The Falcons rushed for 428 yards last week against UNLV and has scored 30 or more points in every game this season.  Long known for their triple-option offense to mismatch defenders, Air Force quarterback Liam Szarka, known for his passing arm, gives the Falcons a new pass threat.

A Grandview High School graduate from Aurora, Szarka has emerged as a standout performer, passing for 638 yards and five scores while rushing for 296 yards and four touchdowns through four games.

Wyoming Head Coach Jay Sawvel said this week that the Air Force demands a boring attention to detail on every play of the game. Defenders have to do their particular job on each and every play, Sawvel said. It’s a grind.

Last week, The Cowboys threw for over 300 yards in the win against San Jose State. Kaden Anderson was 23-of-39 for 304 yards with a pair of scores.

The Cowboys will likely need to match that firepower tomorrow.

Kickoff between Air Force and Wyoming is set for 1:30. Bigfoot 99 will be on the air at noon with the pregame show.
