Wyoming wrapped up non-conference play Monday night, defeating Sioux Falls at the Sanford Pentagon with a 15-point 87-72 win.

Wyoming put in a good all-around performance, extending their lead in the second half. The Jackrabbits went on a run in the second half, hitting a couple of late threes, to make the score look closer than it was for most of the way.

Senior Leland Walker put in 13 points for the Cowboys. Naz Meir had another big night, leading the Cowboys with 25.

The Cowboys shot 54 percent, hitting 30 of 56, and 10 of 24 from three-point range for 42 percent. From the free throw line, Wyoming hit 17 of 20 for 85 percent. The Cowboys led the scoring the entire way.

Head Coach Sundance Wicks saw the game this way after the win.

Coach Wicks celebrated the win but wasn’t happy with how South Dakota State University cut into Wyoming’s lead with three-point shots in the second half.

The Cowboys will open conference play on Saturday afternoon inside the Arena Auditorium. Grand Canyon University opens their first year in Mountain West play with a trip to Laramie for a 2 p.m. showdown against Wyoming. Bigfoot 99 will have the game beginning with the pregame show at 1:30.
