Wyoming head football coach Jay Sawvel is shopping for a new offensive coordinator in the off-season.
Sawvel will meet with one candidate this week and another comes to Laramie next week.
Interim OC Jovon Bouknight, who led the offense over the final five games of the regular season, will remain on the staff as the wide receivers coach. The Hall of Fame wideout was tapped mid-season to replace Jay Johnson, who was demoted to an analyst role after a Week-7 loss at Air Force.
Johnson was hired prior to the 2024 season. He left the program after the setback at San Diego State two weeks later, Sawvel said. Johnson came to Laramie in 2023 after serving in a similar role at Michigan.
Wyoming averaged 16 points per game this season, and ranked 129th out of 134 eligible FBS teams.
