After last year’s devastating Fourth of July fire, the Alcova Resort Marina is nearly back to its pre-fire status. At approximately 5:00a.m. on July 4th, 2023, a fire broke out at the Alcova Resort. General Partner Russ Mason described that tragic night.

Mason said he rushed to the resort as quickly as he could. When he and General Manager Sam Marion got to the scene, they could see that the building was a total loss.

Mason said Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms has listed the cause of the fire as arson. However, Mason said he can’t be sure how the fire started.

Following the fire, Mason said the Alcova Resort hosted a party. The general partner said the event helped the community accept the loss of the seventy-plus-year-old marina building.

Now, nearly a year after the devastating fire, the Alcova Resort Marina is close to being fully operational once again. Mason said thanks to the efforts of his construction team, the resort restaurant is gearing up to reopen soon.

Mason said he expects to have the Alcova Resort grand reopening sometime this summer. In the meantime, Mason said people can still visit the resort for fun times.

Mason encouraged people to come out to the Alcova Resort and see the work he and his team have been doing to restore the historic facility. The Alcova Resort is located at 24025 Lakeshore Drive in Alcova. Call 472-6666 for more information.
