The Board of Directors for the Carbon County Museum announced Tuesday it is no longer pursuing the renovation of and the move into the Hugus Ferguson building in downtown Rawlins.

The county purchased the building in 2013.

Although the dilapidated structure was designated as “dangerous,” the museum’s former director spearheaded plans to transform it into a state-of-the-art museum and research center. Those plan are now off the table. Cali O’Hare has the story.
